Magic with... Magnets?

9:00 AM

Designed in Sweden, Flyte announced this lamp-slash-art installation to be going on sale in October. The LED bulb uses magnetic levitation to hover of a wooden base made of sustainable sourced oak, ash and walnut. Powered by induction, this lamp requires no batteries, lasts up for up to 50,000 hours (that's 12 hours a day for 11 years!!), and is basically powered through air. As if this wasn't magical enough, the wooden base also doubles as a wireless charging pad for your smartphone.

The world moves fast and we're always on the hunt to experience something surreal and future-driven. This innovation truly gives you a chance to take a break from gravity (even just by looking at this video) and experience something so surreal, that it appears suspended in time. We're talking about an installation that powers light through the air via induction and seems like genuine magic in the world of technology. It doesn't get much cooler than that.
