The Story of Vans

7:15 AM

In 1966 Vans opened for business in Anaheim, California, manufacturing deck shoes. Vans' rugged make-up and sticky rubber sole made them the perfect companion for skateboarding and they were quickly adopted by the rising subculture. The brand listened to the skaters, their key target group and created the perfect skateshoe. This year Vans celebrates 50 years "off the wall" worldwide. The original action sports footwear and apparel brand will honor its rich heritage with special product releases throughout the year, showcasing Vans' timeless design and innovation. They launched the online campaign with five videos created with the French artist Mrzk & Moriceau. Each video has a different speacher like the skateboard legend Jeff Grosso, the hip-hop legend Chuck D or the skateboardstars Ray Barbee and Tony Alva. Especially the interactive timeline on their webside is worth seeing.
